Women’s Missionary Union (WMU)

The Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) meets the first Thursday night of each month at 6:30 pm. Meetings are usually held in homes. WMU has recently been working to help sort, fold, and cut plastic bags that are crocheted into mats for homeless people (Sleep Mats for the Homeless).  The WMU, also referred to as WOM (Women on Mission) focuses on missions and missions projects (local, state, national, and international). It is for women of all ages. Major focuses during the year are: collecting the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American missions, collecting the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for international missions, heading up collection of Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes through Samaritan’s Purse, and other missions opportunities that arise during the year.

The WMU sponsors the monthly “3rd Friday Game Day Brunch” at 11:30 am every 3rd Friday.  The WMU prepares the food and it is free and open to everyone.  There is not a nursery.  Any donations go to missions programs or projects.  The brunches are held in the church fellowship hall beneath the sanctuary.
